Experienced LDAP Engg.

Job Description:  

All resumes submitted must pass a technical screen by the
supplying vendor. The screen must include expert experience in
Unix, and Perl scripting, functional experience in LDAP as it
relates to messaging/calendar.  Messaging and calendar
experience is highly desired.

Position Description:

Application Support
70% of  the position is application support.  This includes
monitoring the health and operation of the email/calendar system
to ensure 24X7 application availability to 10,000 customers such
as Energy Traders, Fermi Nuclear Plant, and corporate email
users. The candidate must be hands on in the following skills
and able to perform these tasks and share/transfer their
knowledge.  Some support tasks would include:

 Implementation of alarms and metrics to warn of potential
system problems
 Creation of scripts (Unix, Perl, Java) to ease day-to-day
operations
 Implementation of software patch releases
 Roll out of new application versions
 Restoration of email accounts
 Resolution to application issues
 Automate leveling of message stores
 Understand LDAP from a functional view point to assist in
troubleshooting
 Understand Unix from a functional view point to assist in
troubleshooting

Projects
Candidate would need experience in application migration and
implementation practices.
 Roll out new application versions (email/calendar experience
preferred)
 Version control
 Mass email conversion from Lotus Notes to Netscape Messenger
 Conversion from Netscape Calendar to iPlanet Calendar

Planning Role
Candidate should be familiar with project planning and
execution.  This person should be familiar with the steps
required to migrate applications from one version to another.
 Assist in creating and executing a plan to migrate from
Netscape Calendar to iPlanet 5.x calendar
 Analyze and create plan to migrate from Sun Solaris 2.6 to 8.0
 Analyze hardware/software requirements to ensure the migrated
applications will function optimally under load

Personal Characteristics
This individual must have excellent communication skills, be
able to transfer knowledge, be self motivated and be able to
plan/execute projects.

The LDAP requirement for this job is that of being able to run
an LDAP query, being able to extract information from LDAP, and
a general understanding of LDAP. This individual does not need
to have LDAP design or experience as an administrator of LDAP.
