Senior LAN/Linux Admin.

Job Description:  

Daily responsibilities include:

1. Installation of Linux O/S on Intel/IA64 platforms
2. System administration and application support on the Linux
platform
3. Assisting in the migration of applications from other
platforms to Linux platform
4. Assist ITS in developing Linux migration strategies

*Linux certification preferred
*Must have worked with Linux (preferably Redhat 7.1 or above)
*Have implemented and supported applications on Linux platform
*Familiarity with SAN (Storage Area Network) Technology (6 mo
desired skill)
*Experience in migrating applications to Linux platform
*Must have extensive system management experience on Unix
platforms
*Must have experience with Internetworking technologies
*Familiarity with web technologies preferred


1.  25% Gathers information, analyzes, designs, recommends and implements solutions in area of responsibility.  Identifies/utilizes appropriate tools.

building skills on multiple teams.  Ableto support multiple internal clients.
3.   20% Strong organizational skills.  Good oral/written
communications skills and assists with formal and informal presentations.
4.   15% Provides planning and time estimates for assignments.
5.   10% Under general supervision provides work direction to
others, is self-directed.
6.   5% Works toward certification in areas of expertise, when
available.
7.   The formal education level required for this position is a
Bachelors degree in a related field and 1 to 2 years of experience.  Individuals without a formal degree will need 3 to 5 years' equivalent experience.
